State Results: Day 1

It was an excellent day for Sandpoint Track and Field today and Eagle High School for the Idaho 4A State Track and Field Championships. Leading the way were Mikhaela Woodward and Sam Levora in the 3200m finals. Mikhaela set a 30 second PR to place 2nd with a time of 11:35.27. Mik ran an excellent tactical race, moving up through the entire race and getting into second with 600 meters to go. Sam also placed 2nd in the 3200, running a PR and school record time of 9:32.59. Sam hung with Elijah Armstrong through the first mile before dropping off during the 2nd. It was a gutsy race and enjoyable to watch.

In the 400 prelims, both Tim Prummer and Lily DeAragon ran spectacular races and made it into Saturdays finals. Tim ran a 50.45 to capture the top seed time, and Lily was 3rd overall seed time with a 1:00.51. Nathan Schwartz took 8th in prelims to earn a spot in the finals in the 110 hurdles, and Grant Kennaly placed 5th in the Pole Vault finals with a 12'6" vault.
