Pasco Invitationals Results04/19/2014
The Sandpoint Track Team had 8 athletes competing in Pasco this weekend. There were over 150 teams and 1500 athletes at the highly competitive meet. 2 school records were broken, the first was by Senior Sam Levora, who lowered his own school record to a 4:17.86 in the 1600, placing first in the event. Freshman Rainey Woodward then broke the 14 year old 800 record, running a 2:21.23 and placing 5th out of 33 competitors. Junior Mikhaela Woodward continued her impressive season by running a 5:17.43 in the 1600, placing 3rd and coming with 5 seconds of the school record. Mikhaela and Sam also ran the 3200. Sam placed 7th with a 9:33, and Mikhaela was 8th in an 11:49.
Other Sandpoint results include a 1:59.9 800 by Senior Matt Burgstahler, who is within a second of school record in that event. Matt placed 11th out of 39 runners. Lani Wahl competed in the Long and Triple Jump. She set a personal record of 16’2.5”, placing 11th in the Long Jump. Lily DeAragon ran the 400 in a 1:03.77 in the open 400, and Mark Kennaly ran a :53.28 in his 400, setting a new PR. Nathan Schwartz ran the 300 hurdles and ran a 43.69.
Sandpoint JV competes at JV Regionals on Tuesday and Coeur d’Alene High School, and the Varsity team will be running the the Rasmussen Invitational next Saturday at Coeur d’Alene High School
