Solid Finishes at Christina Finney Memorial Relays

Sandpoint Track and Field competed in their second invitational this week, and the distance team had a great day. Mikhaela Woodward started out the day by taking 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 5:22.56, followed by Claire Pierce (5:52) and Emily Marshall (6:03). In the 800, Hannah Davidson set a new PR in the 800, finishing with a 2:38. She was followed close by fello freshman Sharon Rowe who ran a 2:40, and Lauren Orr who finished in 2:41. In the 400, Dana Beaty ran a PR of 1:08.55, followed by Saydee Brass who also ran a PR of 1:10. Maddy Kleinkauf finished in 1:16 with a PR also.

The boys races started out with Sam Powell running a 4:49 1600, followed by teammate Chris Cordova in a 4:50 and Finan Lund-Andersen with a 4:51 PR. For the 800, Kenny Kovalchuk ran a 2:07 PR, taking 3rd. Matt Cloud was in 7th with a 2:11, and Quinn Donnelly ran a 2:23. Mark Kennaly finished 2nd in the 400 with a PR 51.78, and James Bradley had a great race running a PR 57.07. Teagan Dieter finished close behind in 58.25. Last of the day was the 3200, where freshman Cole Dillon ran an 11:44 PR to finish 10th.

The results for this early in the season we excellent. After spring break Sandpoint will be back in Post Falls for a 5 team meet.
