Regional Cross Country Meet

Sandpoint placed second at the regional cross country meet this weekend in both the boys and girls races, earning a trip to state for both team. In the girls race Megan Bartlett won her 3rd regional title by more that 50 seconds, Kat Vardell was 3rd, and Molly Burgstahler was 4th moving up to 8th on the all time school list with a 20:24. The three of them qualified as individuals as well as with their team. The girls placed a close second to Moscow with a 30 to 33 team score.

The boys also took second behind a strong 2nd place finish by Danny Pfeifer. Danny ran a 17:12, moving him up to 13th on the all time list. Timmy Householter placed 7th, which put both of them as individual qualifiers as well.

In the JV races, Emily Thompsen led the girls to a second place finish with a 6th place finish, and Audrey Shaw was not far behind at 8th place. Both earned spots to run on the varsity at state. For the boys, Tony Charvoz continued his strong season placing first with a 17:49, earning him number 25 on the all time Sandpoint list. Kevin Pfeifer placed 8th and earned a spot on the state team as well.
