The Sandpoint Cross Country team continued to run well, despite missing front runners on both teams. The boys varsity placed a close 3rd to a deep Hanford team by a score of 96 to 108 in the meet. Danny Pfeifer finished 8th overall with a time of 17:48, David Marienau placed 12th with at time of 18:00 and Jimmy Matthews placed 13th with a time of 18:01. Alex Charvoz, Mason Foster, Galen MacDonald and Chris Jones rounded out the top 7. Next week Evan Rains will be back with the varsity.

The boys JV team also placed 3rd, paced by Damen Rodriguez in 16th place with a time of 20:23. Brennen Chasse placed 20th with a 20:34, and Dakota Blaese, Matt Pfeifer and Kipling Pedersen rounded out the top 5 scorers for Sandpoint.

The girls varsity was paced by Molly Burgstahler's 12th place place 21:48. Lindsey Anderson was 2nd for the team, followed by another outstanding performance by freshman Aubrie Perry barely edging out Becca Cloud. Ashley Anderson, Marisa Rains and Audrey Shaw were also in the Varsity 7 this week. Next week Shanysa Reid will be back on the varsity squad as it begins and prepare for Regionals.

The Sandpoint JV girls ran a great race, placing 3rd overall. Hope Woodruff led all Sandpoint runners with a 14th place 25:39, edging out teammate Danette Mauck in 15th with a 25:39.9. Jenny Pugesek, Susan Kovalchuk and Mariah Breakey finished out the top 5 scorers.

The team has the next weekend off and will run again October 10th at the Sandpoint Invitational.
